Video MILA

Artist Irena Sladoje created video work as artistic comment within the framework of the project Individual utopias now and then/Discontinuity of generation dialogue or what do we have in common?

Video “Mila” is featuring artist aunt, who was working as a sales person in multi-level marketing system because she had no other source of income during the 1990s sanctions and political isolation in Serbia… Multi level system and products she was promoting become her personal utopia(s) in which she believed and opposed them to the total dystopia of the society in which she lived. Video is edited in the way that all Mila’s presentations and all products she is selling are creating single narration that
questions nature of human needs and system of values and believes.
